What we did on Landon's First Birthday!

These are the pictures that I took today on the actual day of Landon's first birthday. We took him trick or treating at Beaver Creek Ski Resort...and man, it was a lot of fun. He actually lost his puppy ears tonight at the Resort. Chris and I looked everywhere for them...but there were so many people there that we had no chance of finding it. You could barely walk around because there were so many kids Anyways, check out the pics that I took today of my little toddler. Aww, it's cool to call him that. I love him! As soon as we got to the Resort, Landon fell asleep. Check out that picture!

Check out this dog fish? It's a semi-aggressive saltwater fish. It wont work in our tank...cause they'll pick on our clownfish. Anyways, I had to take a picture cause it really looked like a dog to me.

Happy Halloween!

So tonight, we had a Ward Halloween party at the church. We decided to take Landon and he had so much fun. He got to fish, play with the ring toss, the dart balloon throw, limbo...bowling, and pin the nose on the pumpkin. We had a good time...it was mostly the coolest watching Landon enjoy all of the scarey faces. He cracks me up! He got tons of candy to put into our personal candy bowl. Ohh, the joys of having kids. I get to eat all of their candy...cause he can't have it yet. :)

Chris was Frankenstein, I was Bride of Frankenstein, and Landon was a puppy. Landon had ears that went to his costume, but he kept pulling them off of his head. Sorry

About my pregnancy!

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant?
In the tub
2- Who was with you? Chris...and Landon before he was big and strong
3- How did you find out that you were pregn​ant? Well, Chris and I had actually planned our pregnancy so...I took a few tests before I found out for sure. I would say I was excited to know...so I took about 5 different tests, and they were all negative...and then one night my chest was hurting really bad at work. I worked for RE/Max Real Estate at the time, and when I got home from work, I took another pee test, and laid it on the counter..and hopped in the tub. Chris came in the bathroom and saw the results before me. All he kept saying was..."WHAT? WHAT? I said, "no way. Really?" I can honestly say though, that even though we planned the pregnancy..i was still quite scared, and nervous at the same time. I was for sure shocked!
4- What was your first​ react​ion to findi​ng out you were pregn​ant?
No way! Your lying! Really?.........I was shocked for sure
5- Your Husba​nds react​on?
​He said he was stunned...and shocked. He said, "What?"
6- Who was the first​ person you told?​
I actually tried calling my mom...but she didn't answer so I called Emily. I told her that I thought I was pregnant, but I wouldn't know for sure til that following Monday. She was real snappy with me on the phone, and I thought, Man...she must be mad at me or something. I didn't know at the time that it was because she was sick and pregnant too. hahaha
7-Did you plan to get pregn​ant?
Yep, but I was still shocked...kinda like...ohh gosh, I really am pregnant.
8-Was every​body happy​ for you?
Yes, everybody was really happy...before I knew that Emily was pregnant too, my mom kept telling me that I need to talk to Emily about my pregnancy..but I kept saying no, cause the last time I had talked to her about it, she snapped at me. My family wasn't too worried because I graduated that semester in college.
9. Did you go out and celeb​rate?​
Honestly...I dont even remember. I think we went to Blue Bird Restaurant or something. I really love that place.
10- Did you want to find out the sex?
Yes...I really wanted to know.
11- What was the sex? He's definitely a BOY!
12-Did anyon​e throw​ you a baby showe​r?​ Of course. I have the best family!
13- If yes, who? My Mom, Brenda, and Briana threw one in Pennsylvania for me, and Chris' mom threw me one in Orem, Utah at her house.
14- Did you get any outfi​ts at the baby showe​r that you just knew you weren​'​t going​ to put on your baby? I actually think I liked them all. Really! It's just cool getting anything...cause it was all new and cute to me.
15- How much weigh​t did you gain? ahh, probably about 30 pounds. I seriously probably gained like 15 the last month and a half.
16- Did you loose​ all of the weigh​t that you gaine​d? Yes, I did...FINALLY. I thought that because I didn't gain a ton, that it wouldn't be hard to get rid of...but that last 10 pounds really was tough. Just like Emily said though, after you have a baby...your body changes shape. Even though I'm back to my normal weight, I don't look the same as I used to.
17- Did you get a lot of stret​ch marks​?​ Umm, I did get a few..but not too many. I thought it was bad..but others convinced me otherwise. I dont even care about that though. I remember thinking...ohh gosh, I have a stretch mark. They fade and you can't even see them anyways.
18- What did you crave the most? Seriously...I wanted pizza and pasta. Anything saucy. Mmm, I loved it!any kind of italian food ...I loved Bread too!
19- Did you crave​ anyth​ing crazy​? No...not that I can think of at the moment.
20- Who or what got on your nerve​s the most?​ I just got tired of people trying to tell me the kind of parent I needed to be. I mean, I'm not an idiot. I have good values, and I am not going to let my kid be around drinking and drugs. I know that my mom's side of the family drinks and stuff..and I dont want my kids involved in that...but that doesn't mean that my kid is never going to know that part of my family. I'm going to let my baby know my mom's side of the family no matter what they're habits might be. I got tired of people telling me that I really need to think about what kind of people my kid was going to be around. I'm like...dude, he's not even born yet. SHUT UP! Notice the annoyied attitude.
21- Were you marri​ed at the time? Yes of course!
22- Did you have any compl​icati​ons durin​g your pregnancy?
Nope. I was healthy the whole time..and so was Landon. I mean, I threw up a lot...but that was expected.
23- Where​ were you when you went into labor​?​ I was sleeping...well, actually I woke up to use the bathroom, and when I went...I noticed that my water had just broken. It was 3 in the morning...and I didn't know what was happening. I hurried to wake my mom up (because she was visiting me and Emily at the time) and she would know best if I was in labor. I noticed a little blood, and my mom said...umm, I think your in labor....so then Chris woke up, and he grabbed the diaperbag...and we headed to the hospital. I wasn't in any pain though, so I didn't even know I was in Labor. We hurried to the New Women's Center in Logan, Utah. . . and it was the first night that that place had opened...so that was an experience. The nurses had no idea where the towels were or anything...and my water was leaking all over the floor. Gross huh? Girls you can't help that when your pregnant. Your body does whatever it wants to do.
24- Did your water​ break​? Yep!
25- Who drove​ you to the hospi​tal? My mom and my husband Chris
26- Did you go early​ or late? I went into labor 8 days early.
27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth​?
Umm Chris...and then some students learning...and then the nurses of course. Right after I gave Birth...Chris' mom showed up.
28- Was it video​ taped? ​ Heck NO...but they did whip out the mirror. I didn't look though. That's gross!
29- Did you have any drugs​ for the pain? Heck yeah. There's no way I could've done it without the epidural. I didn't feel much...just pressure!
30-Did you go Natur​al or have a c-​secti​on? natural​
31- What was your first​ react​ion after​ giving​ birth​? I just remember thinking...everyone leave! I just wanted to be alone..with my baby. I didn't want people around while I tried breastfeeding. Figures...everyone would come...and Landon had trouble breathing! I'm just the type of person who wants to be alone when something goes wrong. Landon had trouble breathing, and he was in the ICU for a week. The doctor had no idea what was wrong with him, and that was scarey. I just wanted to deal with it alone and with Chris. It was such a personal trial... I just wanted to deal with it as a family.
32- How big was the baby(s)? 5 pounds 15 ounces
33- Did your Husba​nd cry? No
34- What did you name the baby(s)? Landon Christopher
35- Did the baby(s) have any compl​icati​ons? Yes, He had trouble breathing, and had Juandice.
36- How old is your baby today? He'll be one this Saturday...October 25th.
37- When is the next one(s) comin​g?I have no idea. Everyone says that having kids about two years apart is the best way to do it...so hmm...maybe we'll try for another one in about a year or something. Who knows!
38-​If you could​,​ would​ you do it all over again​?​ Definitely...someday!

Status!

So real quick, I wanted to leave a comment, and tell everyone that Landon is doing a whole lot better. Chris' parents Kent/Denise and our brothers Evan and Braden drove here this past Friday...and stayed til today around 3:30pm. We threw Landon a party for his 1st birthday. And he got a bunch of stuff. Once again, thanks everyone for Landon's gifts for his birthday. It turned out great! Pictures will be posted shortly.

Bad news/Good news!

So, I first got some bad news. While Landon and I were visiting in Utah, he got a little bit of a bug..and he's had a high fevor for a few days. Every night for the past 2 nights, Landon has had a temperature of about 104. It's even got so high as up to 104.8, that was this morning around 7:30am. I called the doctor, and all he pretty much says is that I have to stick it out because usually all doctors can do for a fevor is to give the baby medacine, and I can do that at home. He said that if the temperature spikes after tonight, then for me to take Landon in to the clinic, and they will do some blood samples.

The good news is, it seems that Landon's fevor has gone away for the moment. The doctor says that it's normal for the fevor to go away during the day...so all I can do is...keep switching between Tylenol and IB Profin every 4 hours..and hopefully it works. If not, they'll have to give him an antibiotic. He's been sleeping a lot, and I'm happy for that because he hasn't really slept much since his fevor started.

It was so weird today because Landon's fevor was pretty high, up to 103.5...and I put some lotion on him...some cool wipes on his face..and then laid him back down..and when he woke up this afternoon, I noticed him calling for me. He said, "Maaa", and when I went into his room, he was standing up in his crib. That's the first time i've seen him stand or get up at all in 24 hours. He's been pretty lethargic for awhile. Anyways, you have no idea how happy I was to see my baby boy get up and smile. :)
Anyways, I just wanted to give you the status on how my week has been since I've been back to Colorado.

I just want to thank Emily and Chad for letting me stay at their house for a week. I am so glad that I got to go and enjoy Rayden's first birthay.

Landon ate dirt!

Eww, Chris and Landon were playin in the yard together..and I was snapping pictures. Yeah, as you can see, Landon started eating dirt. I figured...all boys eat dirt once...and so I let him do it...just enough to get a picture. You can see that he threw it down and started smackin his hands together to get the dirt off of his hands. You can see that he was happy as always though. He's a way good kid! I'm lucky!

Today Landon got to do some laundry with me! It was cute! He thought I was playin most of the time. He kept taking the socks and then runnin away.
(well I guess crawling away really fast cause he can't walk by himself yet, but you know what I mean)

Joys:

1. Family- As much as I love working and trying to always stay busy, I really think that one of my joys as being a mother is the fact that I can stay home and take care of Landon. He is definitely my number one joy. I would have to say that Chris is the best dad ever, and he works hard so that I can stay home and share every moment with Landon.
2. The Gospel- Yeah, pretty much, it gives me and my family great values to live by, and I think it's a great foundation to live by.
3. My health- I am so gratful that I am healthy and able to do all of the things I need and want to do, which leads me to my number 3.
4. Exercising- I would say that exercising is so important, and I am grateful that I am able to continue getting in shape. Just the fact that I enjoy biking, and hiking, and walking, and running...is such a blessing cause I would hate to get fat!I know that probably sounds so dumb, but after having Landon and having to gain weight for pregnancy, I realize how much I liked me better just being healthy and at an average weight. :)

Fears
1. Death- I know that I shouldn't be afraid of death, but..it's not the actual death that I'm afraid of, it's the fact that I wont be around to share special moments with my family anymore. I truely enjoy, and cherish every moment I have with my family because you never know when it could be the last time with them.
2. I am so afraid of spiders and beetles..you have no idea. I hate the crunchy sound too when you squish one on the ground too.
3. Something bad happending to Landon and Chris and not having the knowledge to fix it.

Obsessions/Collections:
1. Keeping the house clean- I seriously clean the house EVERYDAY. I hate when I walk on the floor and I can feel Landon's Cheerios on the ground underneath my feet. Ugh, I vacuum the carpet as much as I can.
2. I've been collecting all of the Disney Movies since before Landon was born. Beauty and the Beast if my favorite.
3. Money- I think it's so important to just save as much money as you can. Even if you dont have much, it'll add up, but you have to give it time. It'll be a blessing, if something bad happens and you have that money saved. It takes away from the Stress of having to work to get it if something does happen. We could probably do better at saving...I'm sure!
4.Ohh gosh, one of my favorite book series that I've recently read was the Twilight Series. I own all 4 of the books, and I'm telling you, they are amazing.

Random Facts:
1. Sea turtles live to be over 150 years old.
2. Chris loves watching that Survivorman show on tv. He also likes that Bizarre Foods show..where this guy goes all around the countries eating weird foods.
3. Halloween is my one of my favorite Holidays. I love going to the Wentz's house and seeing all of their creatures at this time of year.
4. I always beat Chris at every game we Play together. I'm pretty much a BIG DEAL! :)

Landon lost his toy

Earlier today, Landon and I went on a nice walk. We walked to the Post office..and on our way back home, it started raining. I thought, "ohh geeeez, are you serious? We have like a 20 minute walk home" Anyways, I got halfway home in the rain, and realized that Landon must have dropped his crab toy on the way home. I couldn't believe it, I was seriously like 2 minutes away from our house. I ended up I walking all the way back towards the post office, and I found it. I was soaked, but Landon wasn't because the stroller blocked all of his rain. He also had a jacket with a hat attached. As soon as I found the crab toy, I rushed back home, and then realized that Landon must have dropped the toy AGAIN cause he didn't have it when we got home. I thought to myself....."you have got to be kidding me." Well..since I love Landon soooooo much, I decided to hop in the car and go and find his toy in the rain. I did find it eventually, and when I showed it to Landon, he was soooo freakin cute. He had the biggest grin on his face. It was adorable!

So Emily wanted to see some pictures of Brandon House and his new wife. Me, Chris and Landon went to their wedding this past weekend at the Denver Temple. It was great to see him and his family. Anyways, this is for you Emily...they look good huh? The blonde girl in the picture is Brandon's sister Deanna. She loved Landon.
